A Typical Day

We often vary the times and activities as residents’ needs require. Some residents can enjoy a full schedule of activities while others need less stimulation and more “quiet time.”


7:00-8:30 We start the day with a smile and a shower, personal grooming, dressing, assistance in getting to the dining room

7:30-9:30 Medication management, before, during or after breakfast as required

8:00- 9:30 Breakfast, prepared hot or cold in our own kitchen

9:30 -9:45 News of the day, and daily schedule review

Lush gardens for walking, resting, conversation...

10:00-10:45 Movement to music with Juliette (Light, seated exercise) 

10:45-11:00 Resting and restroom stops

11:00-Noon Individual, small group or large group mentally stimulating activities (word, number and memory games; puzzles, stories, writing, etc.)

11:30-12:30 Medication management, as required

12:00 -1:30 Our main meal, prepared fresh in our own kitchen

1:30-2:00 Resting and restroom stops

2:00-3:00 Strolling in the garden & vegetable picking, weather permitting, or indoor walking, based on ability and safety; bird/animal watching on the porches and in the gardens; sitting quietly

Sing-a-Longs bring back good memories!

3:00-4:00 Lively group activity such as karaoke, live entertainment, a holiday or birthday party, visiting volunteers, pet therapy, reminiscing, etc.

4:00-5:00 Restful time and individual or group quiet activities; Individual attention for anyone who might get agitated at this time of day 

4:00-5:30 Medication management, as required

5:00-6:00 Light meal, prepared in our own kitchen

6:00-6:30 Resting and restroom stops

7:00-8:00 Movie in the first floor living room; quiet time in the second floor living room; option to retire early or enjoy individual or small group activities, maybe finish a painting started earlier

7:30-9:00 Personal care as required and preparation for bedtime
